The Blue Walk - Vacations
Please allow me to introduce The Blue Walk, a new and truly unique vacation concept.
The Blue Walk are leisurely one-week guided walking vacations along the magnificent French Riviera. Each day brings a new step-by-step adventure following the gorgeous Mediterranean coastline through its most famous towns and villages including Nice, Cannes and Monte Carlo.
But what makes The Blue Walk so unique? No hiking boots or packs required; this magical vacation is a perfect blend of lovely walking trails, seaside meandering and urban strolling. The relaxed nature of our 3-4 hour walks makes it an ideal active vacation for people of nearly all ages and fitness levels.
And each half-day leisurely walk is designed to highlight a different Riviera town each afternoon arriving around lunchtime. You’re then free to spend your day wandering, shopping, dining, going to the beach, or exploring other towns. We’ve included a one-week train pass so you can come and go as you please. And we’re based in a lovely hotel in Nice for the entire week, no need to change hotels. Unpack once; make yourself at home. What a way to travel…
What it is, and what it isn’t: I’d like to point out that The Blue Walk does not describe itself as a "tour". Our guides don’t lead continual discussions about history, dates or other information that one normally associates with a traditional tour. This is not that, nor was it intended to be.
Our concept is about enjoying the meditative nature of walking along large lovely bodies of water; about enjoying the bonding experience of talking with family or friends when you go for long walks and about meeting new friends; it's about really seeing a town as you're walking every step through it - experiencing it at ground level; it's about enjoying the sights of the coastline and cities of the Riviera, the sounds of the waves against the beach, the smell of wild flowers when you turn a corner, the taste of a fresh croissant after you've walked two hours for it, the feeling at the end of the journey when you arrive happy, exhausted, and energized all at the same time; and the sense of adventure discovering new experiences, and maybe even, something about yourself.
